Three Reasons to Be Excited for the Samsung Galaxy S10

I’ve owned iPhones for over a decade.
There are a few reasons why. First, I enjoy the iPhone’s user-friendliness. It’s so easy to use the cellular device that my grandmother in her 80s operates one.
My sleep schedule has finally gotten used to her 5:00 a.m. “Jesus loves you!” texts...
Second, the connectivity and compatibility with my other Apple devices is a huge relief. I’m able to share photos and documents between my iPhone, MacBook, and iPad. I can even see the fitness data my Apple Watch collects on my iPhone.
Most importantly, I’m able to use my Apple devices to track any of my others in case they’re misplaced or stolen.
That feature has saved my ass too many times to count, especially that time during a ferry ride in Puerto Rico when I lost my phone. I was able to use my Apple Watch to ping its location. Luckily, it was stashed in one of our beach bags.
Despite how long I’ve been on Team iPhone’s roster and how dedicated I’ve been to Apple’s products, it may be time to switch over to Team Android, the other side...
The reason being that Samsung has a new phone coming out this week: the Galaxy S10.
I’ve always seen my phone as something of necessity — as long as it can call and text, I’m pretty satisfied. Also, I’ve never been excited about new phone releases. Hell, I don’t even buy new ones until Verizon actually tells me they don’t offer my outdated model any longer.
Not anymore. I’m pretty hyped for this phone. Actually, I’m really hyped.
Here are some reasons you need to be pumped for Samsung’s Galaxy S10.
1. Power and Charging
The S10’s power and charging qualities are awesome. Its battery is designed to hold a charge for 24 hours straight. On the back of the phone, where there’s a pane of glass, it allows for wireless charging.
The most exciting part is that the phone allows for “power-sharing,” meaning the S10 can share its power...
As in you can use the Galaxy S10’s battery power and transfer it to another registered device... all without a single cord or power outlet!
I lose my iPad cord often, and the device always dies on me. Looks like that won’t be a problem in the near future!
The S10 is secure. The phone has built-in fingerprint sensors, which allow you to lock your device and use your fingerprint to unlock it. It actually senses your fingerprint using 3D technology, which makes it harder for those who are trying to access your phone without authorization.
I like this feature in place, given how easy it is to bypass fingerprint passwords using 2D recognition technology.
3. Cryptocurrency Support
The number one reason I’m getting a Galaxy S10 is because of its cryptocurrency compatibility. The phone has a built-in cold storage wallet for your private keys!
Since the phone sports a cold wallet, it doesn’t connect to the internet to access your keys. Because of that, my wallet will be safe from the savage and unforgiving nature of online hackers — which is music to my ears.
The Galaxy S10 will support Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), and two altcoins: Cosmo Coin (COSM) and Enjin Coin (ENJ).
Cosmo Coin is a token that can be earned and redeemed on the Cosmee beauty-based App.
Enjin Coin is an Ethereum-based crypto that’s popular with gamers.
Rumor has it that the Galaxy S10 will back any crypto that’s ER20-compatible. That means the phone will be able to work with any crypto that runs on the ERC20 token standard.
You mean to tell me I can cold store my crypto assets in my phone, no longer requiring my hardware wallet at home? And it’ll support ETH, BTC, and potentially any other ERC20 token?

I think the Samsung Galaxy S10 is going to shake up the mobile device space. But not for long, as the market for mobile devices is super competitive.
Android and Apple have gone head to head with their devices for ages now, but I believe the Galaxy S10 is very attractive — attractive enough to cause a little disruption.
Aside from the graphics and hardware specs that are always sought to beat Apple devices, the Galaxy S10 holds unique features that make even an iPhoner like me second-guess my allegiance.
From the power-sharing feature to the phone’s increased security to, finally, it’s built-in cold wallet, March 6th can’t come fast enough!
I do foresee that the S10 will establish a new bar for its competitors, causing the phone's cool features to be likely emulated in the near future.
The biggest feature I can imagine being emulated in the future is the cold wallet.
If the Galaxy S10 has the cold wallet and it makes the phone a hit with massive sales, I can guarantee you iPhones will have the same feature within two years.
Until then, I’ll be forsaking my Team iPhone membership and standing in line as long as I need to pick up my Galaxy S10.
See ya on the other side,
